Computer Labs
The college has
six PC laboratories namely LAB1, LAB2, LAB3, LAB4, LAB5 & Language
Lab1 (LL1). These labs consist of Intel core 2 duo, Pentium 3 and
Pentium 4 based processor system with an average of 1 GB RAM running
on Windows XP operating system. All these systems are connected to the
SUC network. This enables sharing of resources available on the SUC
network using Windows Server 2000 & 2003 operating system. The
Language Lab1 has a special ICM (Information & Communication Manager)
facility for offering learning sessions interactively.
There are around 150
computers in the labs for the student’s access anytime.
Lab 1, Lab2, Lab3,
Lab4 & LAB 5 consists of 25 systems respectively. These labs are also
provided with internet connections.
The language lab (LL1)
is equipped with 16 numbers of IBM systems with multimedia facilities.
This lab is networked to a Windows based Dell Server that acts as a
teacher console and runs the ICM (Information & Communication Manager)
application for classroom management. All the machines are connected
with headphone & speakers.
All the above labs
satisfies the requirements for conducting IT lab sessions that take
the students from an initial level of no computing experience to
understand and being able to apply the fundamental concepts of
computer hardware and software applications. All the five labs are
equipped with LCD Projectors to aid visual delivery. These labs are
also utilized as an open access lab, which gives the student an
opportunity to practice their lab exercises and do the necessary
documentation required for completing their assignment and reports.
Students can also access internet through all the labs during the free
lab slots.
Required licensed
software’s are installed in all the lab systems. The software’s are
updating & troubleshooting periodically by dedicated lab technicians.
