Recommendations on taking the precautionary measures and guidance on the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19

In response to the college’s efforts to ensure a health and safe workplace in SUC campus during the outbreak of COVID-19, the Health, Safety & Disaster Management committee in cooperation with the Student Affairs Department conducted series of meetings to discuss the recommendations to support the college in its role to take the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) according to the directions of the Ministry of Health, The Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19 and the related national authorities in this regard.

SUC highly recommend all of its community to continue practicing the preventive measures and to follow all the guidelines as per the instructions of the Ministry of Health regarding the guidance on the novel coronavirus COVID-19

You can find the full guidelines on the MOH website (https://www.moh.gov.om/en/public-Health-education-section2), the most common precautionary measures include the following instructions for example:

  • “You are required to wear face masks in public places, including all permitted commercial and industrial activities, workplaces.
  • Practice social distancing and avoid close contact with others (keep at least 2 meters distance away from any person).
  • • Avoid direct contact with anyone with symptoms of a cold or respiratory infection.
  • Cover nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing with tissue or flexed elbow.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Avoid touching eyes and nose if the hand is not clean.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.”

Everyone should take his/her responsibility to self-monitor their health. If anyone think that he/she has symptoms, they should contact the nearest healthcare institution.

Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer available with you when touching any potentially contaminated objects when you can't immediately wash your hands.

Avoid direct contact with anyone with symptoms of a cold or respiratory infection.

Avoid the shared use of cups and the other food and drink tools between more than person.
