Ruthirapathy Bhupathy ( R.B.) has the following qualifications:

 

  • M.A.,  in English language & Literature

  • M.Ed., in Education with dissertation on ELT materials production

  • M. Phil., in English Literary Criticism with dissertation on Using Drama in ELT

  • P.G.C.T.E., with distinction from CIEFL, Hyderabad, India

  • P.G.D.T.E with distinction from CIEFL, Hyderabad, India

  • C.E.E.L.T – Level 2 from Cambridge University

  • Certificate for Resource Persons in ELT from CIEFL, Hyderabad, India

  • Certificate in ELT from R.I.E, Bangalore, India.

 

R.B was baptized into ELT at RIE, Bangalore, India, on SOS approach in ELT and

 has seen the change over to communicative, communicational and TBLT through the ‘Bangalore Project’ of Dr. N.S.Prabhu.

 

And now his current interest is in ELT Teacher Development and more interested in the

post-method era in ELT of Dr B. Kumaravadivelu.

 

R.B was an ELT teacher educator at the ELT Centre, Tamilnadu, India for eleven years giving in-service teacher training in ELT and supervising ELT in schools on follow-up visits.

He served as Regional Supervisor of English in the Ministry of Education, Sultanate of Oman, for eleven years visiting English teachers: he helped the teachers to reflect on their lessons and make them talk about the strengths and possibilities for further improvement.

 

 He has been an  ardent reflective ELT practitioner in between.

Currently he is teaching English Preparation course for Foundation Classes, and Communication English, Technical English,Learning Methods &

 English fo Academic Purposes for diploma level students at Sur University College.

 

 He was a member of the External Faculty of Annamalai University for four years (1990-1994) for its distance education B.Ed., programme.

 

R.B has presented papers at the Regional ELT Conferences and Senior Teachers & Supervisors Annual ELT Conferences in the Ministry of Education, Oman.

His paper has been published in the ELT in Oman.

 

R.B has been serving as Lecturer in English in SUC for more than five years
