Admission
and Fees
The College welcomes all applicants to
its programs of study regardless of sex, marital status, nationality,
religion, ethnic origin or disability. There is no upper age
limit on entry: however, applicants must be 17 years old at the start
of their studies. Applicants of 30 years old and over are
considered as mature students.
Admission to the Foundation Program
To enroll onto the Foundation Program you need to take the following
steps:
STEP 1
-
Be at least 17 years old
-
Have at least one of the following qualifications:
-
A General Secondary Certificate (Al-Thanawia Al-Ama
for Omani nationals)
-
1 pass at GCE 'A-Level' together with 3 passes at GCSE grade C or
above
-
Advanced GNVQ
-
Full International or European Baccalaureate, or
-
Other studies deemed equivalent
-
Take the College entry tests in English and Mathematics to assess
the appropriate level of proficiency
STEP 2
You will need to provide evidence to show that you have the
financial ability to pay the tuition fees. Students can produce one
of the following:
-
government sponsorship letter
officially sealed
-
guarantor letter certified by an authorized person of a
sponsoring company or a bank
-
bank statement, or
-
any other document deemed satisfactory by the Registrar
STEP 3
You will then need to:
-
pay a non-refundable registration fee of
100 R.O. (One hundred Rials Omani)
-
provide a
copy of your passport, identity card or birth certificate
-
provide your health certificate and four
passport-size photographs
Admission to the Foundation Program for Mature Students
You must meet the following requirements:
-
be at least thirty years old during the first semester
-
be employed or have a profession for six years
-
successfully completed nine years of regular education and been
awarded the Preparatory Certificate (Omani nationals)
-
successfully completed the admission requirements of a particular
academic program of study
-
have preferably attended training, vocational or professional
courses
-
be admitted to the College after sending their file for the approval
of the Directorate General of Private Universities and Colleges

When you first register with Sur University College and at the
beginning of each academic year, you will need to pay academic fees to
cover your tuition and examinations.
Students are required to pay fees either
in full or installments by cash or cheque by person or post:

All fees will become payable on demand and shall be paid in accordance
with the College's Regulations.
All fees apply to both full-time and part-time study.

Please note that fees are also payable for
student textbooks. These fees will vary between the Award Programs,
however as an example, the Foundation Program book fees are
currently 50 R.O. per student.
The Books fees for the Award Programs will
be decided upon at the beginning of each semester as the nature of
these books may vary from one academic year to another.
